Thank you for finding Milwaukee Kayak Company (MKC)! We just completed our 5th season paddling our rivers and it was so much fun. We appreciate your business and thank you for spending time with us, paddling on our rivers and for exploring our city by water.
MKC offers kayak, canoe and standup paddleboard rentals downtown Milwaukee. We are open Spring thru Fall and offer daily rentals and weekly tours. Our 2018 schedule will be posted early spring and we’ll keep in touch with you here and on our social media sites (FB, Twitter and Instagram).
We are located on the Milwaukee River, with easy access to the Menomonee River heading west and the KK River going south.
We are located downtown Milwaukee near Walkers Point, in the Harbor District across the river from the Historic Third Ward. We advocate for our rivers and support local organizations that are doing great things for our city and watershed. When you paddle with us, you will be paddling on our rivers, not Lake Michigan.
All rentals include a boat (kayak, canoe or paddleboard), life jacket and paddle. We have a limited supply of dry-bags on hand that you can borrow to protect your personal belongings.
Life jackets must be worn when near or on the water.
Rentals are for up to 4 hours. You can return your boats whenever you’d like during those 4 hours – some paddlers stay out for an hour, some stay out for 4 hours – it’s all up to you!
We have two locations – our MAIN LOCATION and our “POP-UP” location at Schlitz Park. Both locations are closed for the season – see you in Spring!

We have a selection of tandem kayaks in our fleet at our main location. These fit two adults OR one adult and one child. All rentals include boat, life jacket and paddle.
If you're new to kayaking, please consider renting a solo kayak. Tandem kayaks take a bit of coordination and knowledge of the sport. We want you to have a good experience, so we recommend single person kayaks when available. Tandem kayaks work well for parent/guardian and a child under the age of 12 (when accompanied with an adult). All rentals include kayak, life jacket and paddle.
We may provide a family discount if the tandem kayak fits an adult and child under the age of 12. This will be decided upon arrival.
